The Repair Café Ispra starts again!

AGSEV is pleased to invite the school community to the Repair Café in Ispra on Sunday, January 18th!

The Parents’ Association of the European School of Varese (AGSEV) is pleased to invite all its members to the Repair Café in Ispra!

What is a Repair Café?
It’s a community event focused on sustainability, repair and reuse, while enjoying time together with friends, colleagues and neighbours.

In a time when many everyday objects are quickly replaced, the Repair Café offers a different perspective: taking a moment to understand, repair, and extend the life of the things we use.

It is an opportunity for everyone to step outside the routine and connect with the local community in a meaningful way, by giving a new life to objects.

In addition, the Repair Café hosts a Clothes Swap,  with clothes for adults and children (from babies to pre-teen). Everyone coming to the clothes swap can bring some clean clothes to exchange – just bear in mind that the clothes have to be in good shape, clean and still wearable. The clothes swap is meant as a place to find new life for clothes you no longer wear, if you have clothes to discard then you should bring them directly to the yellow bins.

What can you bring?

  • A broken toy or small household item
  • A lamp or small electronic device
  • Clothing that needs mending (for example, a zipper replacement — please bring the zipper from home; sewing is done on site)
  • A bicycle that needs simple adjustments, such as spoke tuning or basic maintenance

Repairs are carried out with the support of volunteers, depending on time and feasibility.

More than repairs
Even if you don’t have anything to fix, you are very welcome to stop by. The Repair Café is also a space to meet other families, exchange ideas, and enjoy a moment of community—sometimes with a piece of cake and a good conversation.
