Getting to School
Traffic around the school gates is a problem that parents are asked to help with and to think about.
Please consider using the bus service or walking up to school if it is at all possible. There is a semi one-way system operating around the school gates in the mornings on via Montello, where traffic coming up from Lo Stadio is not allowed up the narrow road between 8:15 and 8:45 in the morning. Instead cars are directed to drive around and up via Padre Samuele Marzorati near the cafe Foresteria, so traffic can pass from right to left during that 30 minutes. The same system is in place in the evenings between 15:45 and 16:15. Please do not create a double parking situation on the road in front of school as the “H” bus needs free passage and can become blocked to the frustration of everybody.
Parents on School Grounds
Parents are invited onto school grounds at the start of the school year, and in May during Europe Day. Otherwise there are rules governing entry to the school grounds for Middle School and Secondary pupils on the General Rules page.
Please note that Secondary pupils (S4, S5, S6 & S7) are not allowed to leave school grounds without an exit permit, and are not allowed to phone out for food deliveries! Parents can arrange a 1:1 meeting with their teachers – please check the School’s ‘sms’ system for more details and to find your teachers’ details.
You should be given access to sms when you join the school. In case you don’t have access please contact the school secretary.
Parents and Homework
Mobile phones & ICT
In line with the evolving science, our school has banned mobile phones in Primary, and Middle School while on school grounds. Please find the school rules around Smartphones the Secondary Schools’ general rules page. We would urge parents to keep up to date with the emerging science around digital and social media.
Experts advise postponing mobile phone ownership for as long as possible, and urging parents to keep an open dialogue with their children for the sake of their mental health and happiness.
Positive parenting and Growth Mindset
Our school uses pedagogical, organisational and behavioural approaches which align with a positive parenting and growth mindset approach. AGSEV connects regularly with Parents in our sister schools to develop parent support and education webinars – please check our newsfeed for previous slides or upcoming events.
