Play-Based English Learning Programme

Through play-based workshops, young children are introduced to English in a natural and progressive way that builds confidence, fluency, and communicative ability. Activities are carefully tailored to each learner’s age and language level, providing differentiated learning pathways that ensure continuity, engagement, and effective language development. For preschool children, learning takes place through games, movement, music, storytelling, and creative activities that encourage curiosity, active participation, and the intuitive development of listening and comprehension skills.

Programme Structure

  • Lunch Break & Free Time A relaxed period where children can eat, rest, and socialise with their peers in a welcoming environment.
  • Pre-Class Activities The Picture Book Club, led by illustrator and art historian Dr Luisa Coscarelli Larkin, offers children a welcoming space to explore picture books linked to a monthly theme. The reading is followed by discussion about the story, its illustrations and the ideas it provokes, and kids are encouraged to create their own artwork inspired by the book. The club runs in English.
  • English Lesson A structured, age-appropriate English session delivered according to the course curriculum, focusing on vocabulary, communication, listening, and interactive language practice.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop confidence in using English naturally.
  • Improve listening and comprehension skills.
  • Encourage communication through play and interaction.
  • Build creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Create a positive and enjoyable first experience with English.
