BAC ai tempi del Coronavirus

,

The BAC in the time of Coronavirus

The Parents Association actively supports parents and students. On the occasion of the BAC, for example, the association helps subsidize the activities surrounding this most important event, a small but significant contribution that is greatly appreciated by the S7 students. The article below offers some reflections on this year’s BAC ceremony, written by the vice-president of the Student Government, Filippo Zamparini. Happy reading!

It’s 2020, there’s a worldwide pandemic, and our graduation and future are more uncertain than ever. There have been months of panic and frustration, but they have also certainly rewarded each and every one of us.

On July 4, 2020 we had the opportunity to celebrate this special – or rather, bizarre – graduation. Everything started with heartfelt speeches and the awarding of diplomas at the Varese stadium, where we could see ALL our dear companions. It was a very warm day – for the joy in receiving the diploma and the euphoria created afterwards is an inexplicable sensation. But it was also literally warm, because the sun beat down on our heads for the whole duration of the ceremony. After the last photos it was already time to go home, but the toasts were not yet finished!

For the aperitivo and dinner we were welcomed at Villa Borghi, where the dress code was very elegant! It was dazzling to be able to see everybody dressed to the nines. We enjoyed a simple dinner which, in these uncertain times, was clamorously appreciated by all the students – not even a pandemic can stop us ESV students! After the delicious dishes and a sampling of wine, it was time to party. And what cheers me – now more than ever – were the smiles, smiles everywhere, scattered throughout the Villa, lighting it up like a Luna Park.

I want to thank everyone who supported this project, which has helped all of us and reminded us of brotherhood, and especially of joy, in dark moments.

It was a complicated battle, but we came out of it with our heads held high, victorious, proud of who we are. I wish everyone the best. Thank you, thank you and thank you again for making school wonderful, fun and full of love.
